Model Change Analysis (Dynamo)

In a design and build project, model change monitoring is a big topic which will affect the whole construction and design life. A good monitoring of the model change  can effectively find out the potential issues of the change and trase the issues directly and immediately. In this blogger, I will like to share the method to monitor the model change of structure model whcih already successfully used in my project. Then, I will share some possible method to monitoring the model change of architecture model and MEP model and the difficulties in my project. Ready previous structure model and current model In my project, we will compare the model bi-weekly. So first I will prepare the structure model in last bi-weekly and model in current bi-weekly. Create Automation to extract the geometry data In my project, I use dynamo to extract XYZ location and size of beam, column, slab and bearing wall of both previous and current model.

Headroom Analysis (Solibri)

  In AEC world, there is several laws and rules to control the building design, structure design and MEP design. Headroom is one of the common rule that control the emergency routes or the car parking routes of the building. In this blogger, I would like to share and useful tools which can check the headroom of building refer to the model. Introduction of Solibri Solibri is an open bim software which accept the IFC format. Base on some man-made ruleset, it help to check the quality of the imported model. The common usage is use to check headroom, width of access, distance between pipes, clash of elements, etc. Workflow of checking headroom 1. Continues to the blogger of CBWD, I would like to share more detail about the slab and wall opening modelling and the usage of this model and detail workflow. This model can large help for construction cost, mep coordination and building progress. Workflow of creating slab and wall opening model 1. Create door opening, Louvre opening and Acess opening Create architectural opening base on preliminary architectural model automatically . 2.
